Tansun Recognised for Quality Management
Tansun is proud to announce that we have recently been awarded ISO 9001 certification.
ISO 9001 is the world’s most recognised standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS). First introduced in 1987, it is the most widely used QMS standard in the world, with over 1.1 million companies certified in 178 countries.
ISO 9001 requires organisations to demonstrate that they do what they say they do, and that they have a Quality Management System in place to ensure consistency and improvement.
The ISO recognition demonstrates that Tansun achieves both of these, and verifies that our method of manufacturing products is designed to ensure a high-quality outcome for our customers time after time.
What it means for Tansun’s customers
The commitments needed for certification means that Tansun’s customers also benefit in the following ways;

Continual improvements. To maintain our certification, we are audited every 3 years by an external body but we will also conduct frequent internal audits to ensure that standards are kept and that we are meeting the requirements of our accreditation.

The certification process
We were vigorously audited by an auditor from leading Certification Body NQA who came on-site and undertook a full assessment of all parts of the business, including;
- Documentation. Making sure all personal data and records are handled securely.
- People. Guaranteeing staff & management are properly trained to follow the quality management system.
- Services and Processes. Ensuring that we are able to identify potential shortcomings and have the resources to improve.

Certification requires continual improvement and we will be audited every 3 years by an external body to gain re-certification. We will also conduct frequent internal audits to ensure that standards are kept and that we are meeting the requirements of our accreditation.
For 35 years Tansun has championed engineering excellence and has been at the forefront of innovations in the industry. For example, we developed the concept of infrared electric heaters alongside Philips technology. We also invented the world’s first weatherproof outdoor electric patio heater 20 years ago.
